When John came to you in the way of righteousness, you did not believe him; but tax collectors and prostitutes did. Yet even when you saw that, you did not later change your minds and believe him. (Mt 21:32)
Do you ever fall into the trap of ignoring Our Lord’s instructions, either in Sacred Scripture or in the teachings of the Catholic Church? Even if you adhere to all Church doctrine, how about things such as loving our neighbor and seeking first the Kingdom of God? The readings from today’s Mass are very clear. Both the prophet Zephaniah and Jesus warn that there will be consequences if we don’t heed the warning. Why not take advantage of the remaining weeks of Advent to prayerfully reflect upon those areas where you fall short?
It may be difficult at times, but the reward is worth the struggle!
