Spirit In The Morning – Catholic Radio’s Most Unique Program!

Catholic Speaker Gary Zimak is the host of Spirit In The Morning On Holy Spirit Radio in Philadelphia

A New Catholic Morning Radio Show For Philadelphia!

Get Ready, Philly…

Your Mornings Are About To Get A Little Brighter!

Catholic Speaker Gary Zimak to host Spirit In The Morning On Holy Spirit Radio in Phialdelphia

I am very excited! As you probably know, I was born and raised in Philadelphia and have been eating soft pretzels, Tastykakes and cheesesteaks for as long as I can remember. I have experienced many ups and downs with the Phillies, Eagles, Flyers and Sixers. I know and love the City of Brotherly Love!

Despite being ranked as the ninth largest radio market (according to the July 2016 Neilsen Audio Ratings), Philadelphia has never had a local Catholic morning radio show. That will change on October 10, 2016 when Spirit In The Morning comes to Holy Spirit Radio in Philadelphia!

Every Monday thru Friday at 7 AM Eastern, I’ll help you to start your day with a mix of music, Scripture and inspiration. And you better believe that I’ll offer hope to my fellow “worriers”! This is a show that I have wanted to do for a long time and soon it will become a reality. If you’re outside of the Philadelphia area, the show will stream live on Holy Spirit Radio and TuneIn Radio.

Finally, if you’re wondering about how this will affect my work as a full time Catholic evangelist, the answer is that nothing will change. I will still be traveling around the country giving talks and leading parish missions. I will still host The Gary Zimak Show on BlogTalkRadio and continue to do my various Catholic TV and Radio interviews. And my next book, Stop Worrying And Start Living! will be released in the Fall. Spirit In The Morning is just another way for me to spread the Good News.

Please keep me in your prayers as I get ready to begin this new project. I have a feeling that the Holy Spirit is up to something exciting!

It’s Time For The Saint Andrew Novena!

One of my favorite devotions, The Saint Andrew Novena, begins on Monday (November 30)! It is piously believed that whoever recites this prayer fifteen times a day from the Feast of Saint Andrew (November 30) until Christmas will obtain what is asked. Does this mean that God will give you anything, even something that may be harmful to you spiritually? Fortunately, no! However, I have received miraculous favors since I started praying this novena a few years ago and I believe in its power.

Here’s EWTN’s Fr. Joseph Mary speaking about his personal experience with the St. Andrew Novena:

Here is the novena prayer:

Hail and blessed be the hour and moment in which the Son of God was born of the most pure Virgin Mary, at midnight, in Bethlehem, in piercing cold. In that hour, vouchsafe, O my God! to hear my prayer and grant my desires, through the merits of Our Saviour Jesus Christ, and of His Blessed Mother. Amen.

We’ll be praying this novena every night until Christmas on The Gary Zimak Show on Blogtalkradio. In addition to the spiritual benefits, it’s a GREAT way to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas. Why not give it a try?

Suffering Doesn’t Last, But Heaven Does!

Catholic speaker Gary Zimak appears each Wednesday on The Son Rise Morning Show on EWTN Radio with his series "Let Not Your Heart Be Troubled"

Here’s the Bible verse I discussed on EWTN Radio’s The Son Rise Morning Show today:

“So you have sorrow now, but I will see you again and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from you.” (John 16:22)

Catholic speaker Gary Zimak discusses the fact that all suffering is temporary on The Son Rise Morning Show on EWTN Radio

There’s no doubt that suffering is a painful experience. What can make it even more painful, however, is the thought that it may not come to an end. We have all experienced the pain that comes from traffic jams, bad weather, stomach bugs and boring meetings. While none of these situations are fun, we can deal with them because we know that they are temporary. Jesus suffered tremendously on the cross. He also knew that His followers would be sorrowful as the events of His passion unfolded. As a result, He spoke these words as a reminder that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

If you are suffering, always remember that it is a temporary situation. Your pain will either go away in this life or when you die. There is no suffering in Heaven. In the meantime, although it may be difficult, make it a point to offer up your suffering. When united with the suffering of Christ, your pain can produce an abundance of fruit. The Lord will take all of the suffering that you give Him and use it to save souls. That thought alone can ease your agony as it gives meaning to your pain.

Suffering doesn’t last, but Heaven does. Keep your eye on the prize and always stay close to the Lord. One day you’ll know what it’s like to live with Him forever in a place where there is no suffering!
